"Things will get better, but life will never be the same." -unknown
Death is not simple.
It is not my job nor desire to engage in political debates about what is right or wrong, the fact is that it happens and frequently we need to be able to talk about it.
Consider, for a moment, a soldier or a law enforcement officer who has taken a life in the line of duty, and is being told by some that they should feel guilty, and by others that he did the right thing. How about their spouse who is challenged knowing that the person sleeping beside them has killed someone.
How about the "invisible deaths" that occur with miscarriage or termination - grieving that frequently is kept hidden from others for so many reasons. How does this affect a woman's confidence and opinion of herself?
A person dying from heart disease or lung cancer, feeling the judgement of others for these "preventable" illnesses?
Car accidents, recreational accidents, murder, suicide attempts, survivor's guilt, and on and on.
Unlike wrecking a car or being arrested, some of these situations are "time locked", meaning that these events are more persistent over the years than other events.
Let's get it out so you can move past this in the best way possible for you.
