You Don't Want To Hear This, But Hypnosis Simply Does Not Work For Weight Loss.
Oh sure, we all wish it did - practitioners and public alike. They will give testimonials, but read on.
Let's use what I call the "Filter of Reality": I use the following example - If the wealthiest woman in the country & famous TV personality (with her own chef and personal trainer) can't lose significant amounts of weight and keep it off, don't you think she would have tried something as simple as hypnosis instead of being an icon of dieting failure? If department store diet pills really worked, don't you think people would have spent $60 years ago and have been done with "fat pants" and daily humiliation?
This is where counseling comes in.
Consider something as obvious as cows. (What?? I know it's random, but stick with me here...) Guernsey cows are dairy cows, and are the ones that have their shoulders and hips sticking out at sharp angles. Angus cows, on the other hand, are beef cows and look, well, kinda beefy. Guess what - they both eat grass. You can't make a Guernsey lift weights to look like an Angus, nor can you put an Angus on a diet and have it look good in a swimsuit on a fashion runway in Milan.
But, you can get both breeds to exercise in ways that are appropriate for their breed and become healthier. I'm an Angus, I look more "Highland Games" than "Boston Marathon", and I'm healthy - you can be too. We have different genetics, which comes down to different bones, metabolism, muscle fibers, etc., physical attributes that cannot be changed with hypnosis.
You see that they can breed mice to become obese without fast food - but humans just need to take an aerobics class. Now, the issues are more complicated than that - and that's where the counseling portion comes in. Understand the issue, then proceed. Understand the difference between physical hunger, and cravings (which often occur when full and are hormonal in nature).
Hypnosis will make you feel better in a very realistic and sustainable way, a way that is good for your genetics.
